Three vessels came under fire near the Strait of Hormuz, drones attacked fuel tanks in Oman and Bahrain

As a result of the attack on the cargo ship "Mayuree Naree," registered in Thailand, a fire broke out. The crew of 23 was successfully evacuated by the Omani Navy; the vessel was en route from the port of Khalifa in the UAE.

The container ship "One Majesty," sailing under the Japanese flag, also came under fire, sustaining a 10 cm diameter hole. The vessel is heading to the nearest safe port and was traveling from Ras Al Khaimah in the UAE.

Another vessel, the cargo ship "Star Gwyneth," flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, also sustained damage, but the crew remained safe and unharmed. There is no information on whether "Star Gwyneth" changed its route.

The press service of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reported that Iran struck two cargo ships attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz. One of them is "Express Rome," registered in Liberia and owned by Israel. The second ship, "Mayuree Naree," also under the Thai flag, did not heed warnings, according to the IRGC statement.

Meanwhile, in Oman, several drones attacked oil tanks at the port of Salalah. The Omani news agency ONA reported that some drones were intercepted, but others managed to reach their targets, resulting in damage to fuel storage facilities. According to estimates from Ambrey, two columns of smoke are visible at the attack site, one of the tanks is on fire, and port operations have been suspended. There are no casualties.

The Ministry of Interior of Bahrain reported an attack on fuel tanks on Muharraq Island on the night of March 12.

"The Iranian attack targeted oil storage facilities at the site in Muharraq; the competent authorities are taking necessary measures," the agency stated on social media.

According to the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), since the escalation of the conflict began on February 28, at least 14 incidents involving vessels in the Persian Gulf, Strait of Hormuz, and Gulf of Oman have been recorded, ten of which are classified as direct attacks.

Previously, the IRGC warned that any vessels passing through the Strait of Hormuz risk being attacked. With the onset of military operations by the US and Israel, the strait, a key route for global oil and gas supplies, has effectively closed. Iran has stated its intention to prevent the export of "any liter of oil" from the region if the attacks do not cease.
