Azerbaijan sent about 25 tons of humanitarian aid to Iran

The humanitarian aid includes 10 tons of flour, 6 tons of rice, 2.4 tons of sugar, over 4 tons of water, about 600 kilograms of tea, as well as 2 tons of medicines and medical supplies. This decision was made as a result of telephone negotiations between Presidents Ilham Aliyev and Masoud Pezeshkian, which took place on March 8.

At the same time, on March 5, drones struck the territory of the airport and a nearby school in the suburb of Nakhchivan, resulting in four people being injured. Azerbaijani authorities accused Iran of this attack, and Aliyev described the incident as a terrorist act. The Islamic Republic, in turn, rejected all accusations.

After this incident, truck traffic at the Azerbaijan-Iran border was suspended, but the resumption of transport is planned for March 10.
