Abbas Araghchi
According to Araghchi, in June of last year, when negotiations were taking place, the USA carried out a military attack on Iran. "We were assured that this year everything had changed, and that they wanted to peacefully resolve the issue of the Iranian nuclear program. We agreed to three rounds of negotiations, and even the American delegation noted significant progress. But in the end, they still attacked us. Therefore, I am confident that further negotiations with the Americans will not take place," the minister said.
Araghchi also expressed the opinion that the USA and Israel had planned a change of power in Iran within a short period, but they failed and now do not know how to proceed. He accused Washington and Tel Aviv of increasing oil prices and noted that Iran's actions in other countries and in the Strait of Hormuz are a response to aggression.
"This war has been imposed on us. We are defending ourselves against aggression," emphasized the Iranian Foreign Minister.
When asked how the Iranian authorities view the protests from opposition-minded citizens, Araghchi stated that the overwhelming majority of the population supports the current government: "People express their dissatisfaction with this aggression and support our armed forces. Iranian flags are developing everywhere..."
