Black clouds over Tehran after attacks on oil facilities.
Kazhydromet has denied rumors that acid clouds allegedly formed over Iran could reach Central Asia.
According to meteorologists, false information is spreading on social media about the possible impact of these clouds on Kazakhstan. However, all available scientific data and observation results do not support these claims.
The institution explained that acid precipitation occurs as a result of emissions of sulfur and nitrogen oxides, which mainly come from industrial enterprises, the energy sector, and vehicles. These precipitations typically form near pollution sources.
"As air masses move over long distances, the concentration of pollutants significantly decreases due to natural processes in the atmosphere. To date, monitoring has not detected signs of such pollution being transferred towards Kazakhstan or other Central Asian countries," the forecasters added.
Experts urged people to trust information provided by official meteorological and environmental services and to refrain from spreading unverified information.
