On the evening of March 8, residents witnessed an unusual light phenomenon in the sky over western Germany. Recordings and photographs of this event were actively discussed by social media users from Lower Saxony, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, Baden-Württemberg, and North Rhine-Westphalia, reports Kazinform citing DW.
According to the police, reports of falling meteorite fragments came from Koblenz and the mountainous areas of Hunsrück and Eifel in Rhineland-Palatinate.
In particular, in the Koblenz area of Güls, a "burnt celestial body" fell onto the roof of a residential building. Fortunately, no one was injured. Emergency services arrived at the scene, but after checking, it was determined that there was no longer any threat, as reported by the dpa agency.
