According to the Kamchatka branch of the Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the epicenter of the seismic waves was located 237 kilometers from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, in the waters of the Pacific Ocean. The depth of the focus was 47.9 kilometers.
