The Israel Defense Forces have begun attacking southern areas of Lebanon, acting simultaneously with military actions in Iran. The IDF press service clarified that these strikes are not related to Operation "Lion's Roar," but are aimed at combating "Hezbollah."
According to reports, Israeli soldiers are positioned at several sites along the border, which is part of a strategy to strengthen defense. The military emphasizes that the goal of the attacks is to create an additional level of security for residents of northern Israel. The strikes are aimed at the "terrorist infrastructure of Hezbollah," which is necessary to prevent incursions into Israeli territory.
According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, 52 people have died and 154 have been injured as a result of Israeli attacks over the course of a day. In particular, the Jnah neighborhood and the suburb of Burj el-Barajneh were hit. In response to these actions, Hezbollah attacked several Israeli military bases, but the Israeli side has not confirmed this information.
On February 28, the United States and Israel conducted missile strikes against Iran, which prompted a retaliatory response from Iran, attacking American military bases in the Middle East. Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, the UAE, Oman, and Saudi Arabia expressed their readiness to respond to possible attacks from Iran.
