On February 27, an exhibition dedicated to the 140th anniversary of the birth of Amar Agdanbuu, a renowned statesman of Mongolia, opened at the National Museum of Mongolia. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.

The exhibition was organized in accordance with Government Resolution No. 206 as part of the events marking the anniversary of the former Prime Minister of the Mongolian People's Republic.

The exhibition features personal belongings of Amar Agdanbuu, as well as about 50 archival documents, historical photographs, and video materials collected from the collections of the Main Archive Administration and the National Museum of Mongolia.

According to information from the National Museum of Mongolia, the exhibition also includes books and documents from the Special Archive of the Main Intelligence Directorate, the Museum of Bulgan Province, and the Institute of History and Ethnology of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences.

Amar Agdanbuu, born in 1886 in the modern sum of Bugat in Bulgan Province, was an outstanding Mongolian statesman and public figure, as well as a scholar of the 20th century. He held various positions, including Minister of Economy from 1924 to 1926, Minister of Internal Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister from 1926 to 1928, and Prime Minister from 1928 to 1930 and again from 1936 to 1939.

Amar is a direct descendant of the younger brother of Genghis Khan named Khaichun, making him a representative of the 34th generation. Khaichun was the third child of Yesugei and Öelün; according to the "Secret History of the Mongols," when Temüjin was a nine-year-old boy, Khaichun was only five years old.

On July 10, 1941, while in Kommunarka, Prime Minister Amar Agdanbuu was killed by the Bolsheviks while sitting at the edge of a pit.

The exhibition will be open to visitors until March 15.
