Buryat 'Absolute' could not withstand the French supermarket chain Carrefour in Ulaanbaatar

The closure of the Buryat 'Absolute' was another step in the competition with the French chain Carrefour in Ulaanbaatar

The Russian supermarket chain 'Absolute', representing the interests of Buryatia, has ceased operations in Ulaanbaatar, closing its doors to local shoppers. The store was located in the Hunnu Mall shopping center in the Yaarmag district.

Now, in place of 'Absolute' in Hunnu Mall, a new branch of the Carrefour chain has opened, highlighting the growing competitiveness of this brand.

The 'Absolute' chain is owned by Buryat businesswoman Indira Shagdaryova.

Since the opening of the first Carrefour store in Ulaanbaatar, Russian media, especially in Buryatia, have speculated that the French might leave the market due to the economic difficulties faced by the local population. However, contrary to these predictions, Carrefour continues to actively develop and is opening new locations, already reaching over 20 branches in the capital of Mongolia.
