During the conversation, Tokayev expressed Kazakhstan's readiness to provide necessary support to the United Arab Emirates, considering them a brotherly and friendly country, especially in light of the recent attacks on the UAE's civilian infrastructure.
The President noted that attacks on civilian facilities in the UAE and other countries in the region require strong condemnation.
According to information from Euronews, Iran attacked Dubai and Abu Dhabi in response to the joint actions of the USA and Israel, resulting in the interception of numerous missiles and drones. These attacks caused damage to the terminal of Dubai airport and strikes on Abu Dhabi's Zayed International Airport, where one person was killed and four others were seriously injured. The Burj Al Arab hotel and Jebel Ali port were also hit.
Additionally, on Sunday, Tokayev discussed the situation with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, expressing his support and solidarity during this difficult period.
The President's press service reported that Tokayev is closely monitoring the developments in the Middle East and urges to avoid actions that could exacerbate the conflict. He reiterated the importance of a diplomatic resolution to international disputes.
At the same time, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan announced the transition of its foreign institutions to an enhanced operational mode amid the escalation of the military-political situation in the region. They are providing necessary consular and legal assistance to Kazakh citizens, as well as updating lists of Kazakhs in the conflict zone, including those in transit areas. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also noted that the exact number of Kazakh citizens in these zones is currently unknown. Diplomatic missions, together with travel companies, are assisting with the accommodation of citizens at airports and in transit areas, as well as developing routes for the possible evacuation of Kazakhs from conflict zones.
