Israel attacked Iran, explosions were heard in Tehran
Iranian media report several explosions in central Tehran. The official state broadcaster has informed of at least three explosions, which has caused panic among local residents.
The Fars News Agency reports that strikes were carried out on University Street and the Jamhoori neighborhood in the capital of Iran.
According to Israeli sources, around 30 targets were attacked during the operation, including the residence of the President of Iran, the headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and the airport in Tehran. The Associated Press also mentions that one of the targets could have been the residence of Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
As reported by Reuters, the Supreme Leader of Iran has been moved to a safe location and is currently absent from Tehran.
In anticipation of possible retaliatory actions, Iran has closed its airspace.
According to a senior Israeli security official, the operation was meticulously planned and conducted in cooperation with the United States.
Some sources suggest that Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian may have also been among the targets, although this information has not yet been officially confirmed.
The situation in the region remains tense, and both sides have yet to report on the extent of the destruction and possible casualties.
