In early March, the United States will take over the presidency of the UN Security Council. The agenda for the meeting on March 2 will include topics related to education, technology, as well as issues of peace and security.

In August 2025, during a summit in Alaska, Donald Trump handed Vladimir Putin a letter from Melania. According to information from Reuters, the letter discussed the fate of Ukrainian children taken to Russia during the military actions. Later, Fox News published the text of the letter, in which Ukraine was not mentioned. The letter stated: "Mr. Putin, you can return joyful laughter to these children. By protecting their innocence, you will do good not only for Russia but for all humanity." In October, Melania Trump reported that her representative was actively engaging with President Putin's team to ensure the safe return of Ukrainian children to their families. She noted that after these negotiations, eight children were able to return to their loved ones.
