Melania Trump will preside over the UN Security Council meeting in March
For the first time in history, the First Lady of the United States has the honor of presiding over a meeting of the UN Security Council, which will take place on March 2. This was reported by the Associated Press.

In March, the presidency of the Security Council will be handed over to the United States, and the upcoming meeting is expected to discuss topics related to education, technology, peace, and security. Typically, such meetings are conducted under the leadership of an ambassador from one of the countries or a high-ranking government official.

It is worth noting that in August 2025, during a summit in Alaska, Donald Trump delivered a letter from Melania to Vladimir Putin. According to Reuters, the letter discusses the situation of Ukrainian children taken to Russia during the conflict. Later, other media published the text of this letter, but Ukraine is not mentioned in it. In the letter, Melania urges Putin to restore joy to the children and protect their innocence, emphasizing that this would be beneficial not only for Russia but for all of humanity. In October, Melania Trump reported that her representative is actively cooperating with President Putin's team to ensure the safe reunification of Ukrainian children with their families, noting that as a result of these negotiations, eight children have already found their loved ones.
