China urged the US to lift tariffs after the Supreme Court's decision
Additionally, Beijing expressed concern about the potential introduction of alternative measures by the American side, including trade investigations that could lead to the retention of additional tariffs.
The agency also noted that China will closely monitor the situation and is ready to defend its interests.
Earlier, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned significant tariffs imposed by Donald Trump in April 2025 under the Emergency Powers Act, stating that the president exceeded his authority by using this law to impose tariffs.
In response to this decision, Trump characterized it as a "shame" and announced a plan of action. On the same day, he signed an order imposing an additional 10% tariff on goods from all countries, later increasing it to 15%.
