Rubio: The U.S. is not confident in Russia's desire for peace
Rubio noted that the United States continues to explore the possibility of finding a compromise agreement that would be acceptable to both sides — Ukraine and Russia.
“We are not sure if the Russians really want to stop the war. They claim that they do, but the conditions under which they are willing to negotiate a peaceful settlement remain unclear,” he added.
The Secretary of State also emphasized that the U.S. will continue to make efforts to promote peace.
“I am sure that no one here is against resolving the conflict peacefully if the conditions are fair and sustainable,” Rubio noted.
In the context of rising tensions in transatlantic relations, he called for strengthening cooperation between the U.S. and Europe, highlighting the importance of joint efforts to ensure security and prosperity.
“Europe must survive, as our fates are inextricably linked,” he said.
Additionally, Rubio criticized the issue of mass migration, calling it a destabilizing factor for Western societies.
“This is not just a minor issue, but a serious crisis capable of transforming and destabilizing societies across the West,” he noted.
