The decree, signed on February 13 at an expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers dedicated to summarizing the results of 2025, was reported by the state agency TDH. During this meeting, a new Minister of Environmental Protection was also appointed.
Both central and local authorities are involved in the implementation of this plan. The responsibility for planting 1.5 million seedlings has been assigned to the ministries, sectoral departments, and the khyakimliks of Ashgabat and Arkadag, while the remaining 1.5 million are to be planted by the khyakimliks of the velayats.
The resolution emphasizes the importance of the quality of work. All seedlings of fruit trees and grapes must be planted in specially prepared areas with adherence to species classification. Drip irrigation is planned to be used for watering—this method is one of the most efficient in terms of water consumption.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection will oversee the supply of planting material and monitor the execution of the work, providing the necessary organizations with three-year-old tree and grape seedlings.
