During the shooting at the educational institution, six victims were found inside the building, and one more person died on the way to the hospital. Two bodies were discovered in a neighboring house, and the police believe their deaths are connected to the events at the school, as reported by CBC News.
According to preliminary information, it is assumed that the shooter committed suicide. At least 25 people were injured, two of whom are in critical condition and have been hospitalized. The remaining students and staff of the educational institution were evacuated.
The AFP agency reports that initially Canadian media reported that the shooter was a woman; however, the police have not yet provided details about the attacker's identity, although they claim to have identified them.
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney expressed his condolences on social media, stating that he is "devastated" by the news of the shooting. "My prayers and deepest condolences go out to all the families and friends who have lost their loved ones as a result of this horrific act of violence," he added.
