Mongolians once again delight with medals at the Asian Road Cycling Championship. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.
At the Asian Road Cycling Championship taking place in Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia, athletes from Mongolia continue to show outstanding results. After a successful start, where international master Temuulen Khadbaatar won a silver medal in the 24.6 km distance among juniors under 23 years old, the Mongolian team confidently moves towards new achievements. Temuulen finished his race with a time of 30 minutes 22.88 seconds, becoming the first medalist for Mongolia at this championship.

In the veterans category (55–59 years), international master Shinebayar Dangaasuren won gold in the 20 km race, performing the Mongolian anthem on the podium, while Tumedemberel Surenkhorloo received a bronze medal. The silver in this category was won by Visut Kasiya-phat from Thailand.

In the age group 65–69 years among men, Ankhbayar Gurdorj also became the gold medalist. The silver and bronze medals went to Zainul Kasymdzhanov from Kazakhstan and Rinat Batyrshin from Tajikistan, respectively.
Enkh-Od Darjaa took fourth place in the 60–64 years category.

Erdenetuyaa Dorjchim-ed

In the individual time trial over a distance of 15.8 km among women, Erdenetuyaa Dorjchim-ed took third place in the age category 45–49 years, winning a bronze medal. The gold went to Olga Zabelinskaya from Uzbekistan, and the silver to Zainab Rizvan from Pakistan.

Thus, Shinebayar became a two-time Asian champion, while Ankhbayar won his eighth gold medal at the Asian championships. Tumedemberel now has three medals in his collection, while Erdenetuyaa has already achieved two medals.
At the Asian Road Cycling Championship in 2026, Mongolia will be represented by 23 athletes competing in seven age categories. The competitions will conclude on February 13.
