The first farm in Mongolia specializing in camel milk production is actively showcasing its products and dairy products made from it. This was reported by MiddleAsianNews.
The farm, established five years ago by the group of companies Solid Partners, currently houses 225 camels, of which 160 are females. The milkers handle 70 camels, which together produce between 140 to 150 liters of milk daily.
Each female camel can produce up to 2.5 liters of milk, which is twice as much as an ordinary camel. According to the managers, during the summer, this volume can be increased by another 1.5 liters. Special milking equipment significantly boosts productivity, allowing for time savings.
There are 15 people working at Solid Partners Group.
The farm produces eight different types of products, including yogurt and drinks based on camel milk, which are sold in the domestic market. The company's plans include expanding exports.
According to the company's director, Tsend-Ayush Bayanmunkh, to meet the needs of the domestic market, it is necessary to milk 60,000 camels, which would allow for the production of four thousand liters of milk. However, before that, it is essential to actively promote the products at the local level and create a corresponding market.
The camel milk production plant is located in the sum of Dalanzadgad, Umnugovi province, while the main farming areas are situated in the sum of Khankhongor, also in Umnugovi province.
“Our nearest goal is to increase the volume of milk produced to 750 liters per day, using both our own farms and strategic partners. Within three years, we aim to reach 4,000 liters per day by expanding the farm to accommodate 1,000 milking camels and creating three cooperative farms with 200 camels each. Partners will manage these farms, while we will provide infrastructural support and purchase milk under long-term contracts. Solid Partners Group aims to bring products made from Mongolian camel milk to the global market and create our own Mongolian brand,” said Tsend-Ayush Bayanmunkh.
