A Ghanaian citizen who entered Mongolia on a tourist visa was deported after his visa expired. In 2024, he visited the country using an electronic K2 visa, but it was later discovered that he had become an offender by staying in Ulaanbaatar illegally. This information was reported by MiddleAsianNews.
As a result, the man was fined according to local laws and received a two-year ban on re-entry into Mongolia.
Although Ghanaian citizens can obtain an electronic tourist visa for up to 30 days, there has been an increase in cases of visa violations in recent years, including overstaying visas and engaging in activities not aligned with the purpose of their visit.
In 2025, there were 10 recorded cases of deportation of Ghanaian citizens, most of which were related to violations of temporary visa conditions.
