In China, the second group execution in a week has been carried out.
The execution was carried out by the judicial authority of the city of Shenzhen under the sanction of the Supreme People's Court of China.
All those executed are members of the Bai clan, which has been found guilty of involvement in the deaths of 14 Chinese citizens. It has been established that the clan operated an online fraud network based in Myanmar.
Just a few days prior, on January 29, similar measures were applied to 11 members of another criminal clan—the Ming family.
According to Chinese media, the Bai and Ming clans, along with other groups, have controlled the border town of Laukkai in Myanmar for many years. They were involved not only in cyber fraud but also in managing casinos and sex industry establishments.
It should be noted that in recent years, China has increased efforts to cooperate with Myanmar, Thailand, and Cambodia to combat online fraud. Despite this, in the context of civil war and weakened state control in the border regions of Myanmar, numerous cybercrime centers continue to operate, where foreign citizens are forced to participate in illegal activities.
