According to the forecast, in most regions of the country, the average temperature will be 1-2° above normal, while in the southeast it will be close to normal. Precipitation is expected to be within climatic norms in most areas, but in the northwestern part, as well as in the mountainous and foothill regions of the south, southeast, and east, it will be above normal.
However, in the first decade of February, a drop in temperature to -23-28 °C at night and -15-23 °C during the day is forecasted for the west and northwest (particularly in the Aktobe region). By the end of the decade, the frost will ease: at night the temperature will be -10-20 °C, and during the day it will reach 0-8 °C.
In the north, east, and center of the country, a brief warming is expected at the beginning of February, with nighttime temperatures ranging from -2 to -10 °C and daytime temperatures from -4 to +1 °C. However, by the end of the first decade, it will get colder again, with nighttime temperatures of -18-28 °C and daytime temperatures of -13-20 °C.
In the southwestern, southern, and southeastern regions, nighttime temperatures will fluctuate from -5 to +5 °C, while during the day, they are expected to rise to +8 to +17 °C, after which the temperature will drop again to 0 to +8 °C.
Overall, in February, the coldest days in the west, north, east, and center of the country will occur in the first and second decades, when nighttime temperatures can drop to -21-30 °C, in the mountainous areas of the east to -35 °C, and during the day to -13-20 °C. In the middle of the first decade (initially in the west), some days in the second and third decades may see thaws.
In the south of the republic, throughout the month, the temperature will vary: at night from -5 to +5 °C and from -3 to -15 °C, and during the day from 0 to +10 °C and from +8 to +17 °C.
In northern Kazakhstan, precipitation will mainly be in the form of snow, while in the southwest and southern regions, rain and wet snow are expected. Fog, ice, increased wind, and possible snowstorms in the northern part are also predicted.
