Trump announced the deployment of U.S. forces to Iran, exceeding the group in Venezuela
As previously reported by The New York Times, Trump received a list of potential military operations against Iran from the Pentagon. According to the publication, Washington is considering options for strikes on Iranian nuclear and missile facilities, as well as actions aimed at weakening the regime in the country.
However, Western intelligence agencies have not found evidence indicating that Iran is currently developing nuclear weapons. The publication emphasizes that no signs of high-level uranium enrichment or other activities related to the creation of warheads have been identified.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi previously stated that Tehran is ready to resume dialogue with the U.S. on nuclear program issues, but only if Donald Trump stops threatening the Islamic Republic with new military actions.
Last year, Iran and the U.S. held negotiations mediated by Oman, but they were interrupted in June after attacks by Israel and the U.S. on Iranian facilities.
