Mongolia to Expand Cooperation in Healthcare with South Korea

The Minister of Health of Mongolia, Chinburen Jigjiduren, is on a working visit to South Korea from January 28 to 30, 2026. During this visit, he is engaging with the National Health Insurance Service and the Medical Insurance Evaluation and Assessment Service of the country. The minister shared this information on his Facebook page.

As part of his trip, the minister met with Lee Hyun-hoon, the Deputy Minister of Health and Welfare of the Republic of Korea. They discussed potential areas for future cooperation.


During the discussions, the parties reached an agreement on developing bilateral cooperation in the field of healthcare and scheduled another meeting of the ministers for March in Seoul. They also addressed important issues regarding the support of citizens seeking medical assistance in South Korea and agreed on a number of necessary measures.
Considering the growing number of Mongolian citizens receiving medical services in Korea, the participants concluded that closer cooperation is essential. Further steps were discussed for including Mongolian doctors and specialists in short-term, medium-term, and long-term educational programs in South Korea, as well as ensuring they have access to quality medications and medical equipment.
