A passenger plane crashed in Colombia as a result of an aviation accident, with 15 people on board. All of them died, according to the Xinhua news agency.
As reported by the Colombian television channel RTVC Noticias, the wreckage of the Beechcraft 1900 plane, which belonged to the state airline Satena, was discovered by local residents in cooperation with national police officers in the northeastern region of Norte de Santander.
According to the airline, this plane was operating domestic flight NSE 8849, traveling from Cúcuta to Ocaña. The last contact with air traffic controllers was recorded at 11:54 local time, 12 minutes after takeoff, which occurred at 11:42. There were 13 passengers and two crew members on board.
The Colombian Civil Aviation Authority announced the initiation of emergency protocols and the establishment of a unified command center to coordinate actions and investigate the causes of this tragedy.
