According to the investigation materials, A.A. was in Russia when he voluntarily signed a contract for military service and became involved in combat operations in Ukraine, acting out of selfish motives.

In February 2025, he was detained by the Russian police on charges of violating immigration rules. During the detention, he was offered to join the Armed Forces, and fearing deportation, he agreed.

After signing a contract with the Ministry of Defense, he was sent to a military unit in the Voronezh region, where he underwent training, received a military ID, and a rifle.

In March, A.A. was sent to Ukraine, where he participated in battles. As a result of a cluster munition explosion, he sustained a shrapnel wound to his right arm and was sent to the hospital. After completing his treatment, he continued his service, providing food supplies to his fellow soldiers in the conflict zone.

Last summer, upon returning home on leave, he was summoned to the local police department. A.A. cooperated with the investigation, admitting his guilt.

The court found him guilty under part 1 of Article 154 ("Mercenarism") of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment. The convicted individual will now serve his sentence in a general regime colony.
