More than 60 different factors, such as the economic situation in the country, geographical location, and logistical capabilities, were taken into account when calculating the military power index. Since its inception in 2005, the Global Firepower ranking has become an important source of information about the military strength of countries around the world and is part of the Military Factory network.
According to GFP data, Kyrgyzstan's military budget is 654 million US dollars.
In Central Asia, Uzbekistan ranked 53rd (previously 58th), Kazakhstan – 58th (previously 57th), Turkmenistan – 78th (previously 77th), and Tajikistan – 100th (previously 108th). Kyrgyzstan, in turn, improved its position, rising from 105th to 109th place.
