Kyrgyzstan ranked 109th in the world army rankings - 2026

In the updated ranking of military power of world armies, Kyrgyzstan occupies the 109th place, according to data presented by the military-analytical portal Global Firepower. This study covers 145 countries and is based on more than 60 criteria, including army size, military budget, equipment, and logistics level.
Compared to the previous year, when the republic was in 105th position, Kyrgyzstan has dropped four places.
According to the Global Firepower index for 2026, Kyrgyzstan's defense budget is $654 million, and the total number of military personnel reaches 78,000, of which 23,000 are active military and 55,000 are in paramilitary formations.

The country's armed forces, according to the portal's data, have 7 helicopters, of which 2 are combat helicopters. There are also 215 tanks, 30 self-propelled artillery units, 174 towed artillery units, and 21 multiple launch rocket systems.

Among the Central Asian countries, Uzbekistan holds the highest position at 53rd place. Kazakhstan is in 58th place, Turkmenistan at 78th, and Tajikistan at 100th.

The leader of the ranking is the United States, followed by Russia and China. At the bottom of the list are the Central African Republic, Belize, and Bhutan.
