Ferry sinks in the Philippines with over 350 passengers: 15 dead, dozens missing
The ferry was traveling from Zamboanga to Jolo Island in Sulu Province, with 332 passengers and 27 crew members on board.
According to the coast guard, there may have been technical problems on the vessel. Coast Guard Commander Romel Dua told the Associated Press that the incident occurred shortly after midnight on January 26, approximately 2 kilometers from the settlement of Baluk-Baluk in Basilan Province, where many survivors were taken.
The cause of the crash has not yet been determined, and an investigation is currently underway.
