Iranian authorities confirmed the death of more than 3,000 people during the protests
In Iran, according to the Martyrs and Veterans Foundation, the number of victims of the unrest has reached 3,117 people. Among them, 2,427 were civilians and law enforcement officers.
The official statement emphasizes that many victims were innocent bystanders and protesters who fell victim to the actions of terrorist groups.
The Attorney General of Iran, Mohammad Movahedzadeh, refuted the statement made by U.S. President Donald Trump last week, claiming that he had allegedly prevented the execution of more than 800 people in the country.
