On January 22, the nominees for the upcoming 98th Academy Awards were announced in Hollywood. This year, the Academy will present awards in 24 different categories.
Each category includes five nominees, except for the main category — "Best Picture," where ten films will compete.
The awards ceremony will take place on March 15, 2026, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live in over 200 countries.
The contenders for the title of Best Picture include:

- "F1," directed by Joseph Kosinski
- "Frankenstein," directed by Guillermo del Toro
- "Hamnet," directed by Chloé Zhao
- "Marty Supreme," directed by Josh Safdie
- "One Battle After Another," directed by Paul Thomas Anderson
- "The Secret Agent," directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho
- "Sentimental Value," directed by Joachim Trier
- "Sinners," directed by Ryan Coogler
- "Train Dreams," directed by Clint Bentley.
