An electronic "single window" system for exports has been launched in Mongolia
As part of efforts to enhance international cooperation, Mongolia has signed an agreement with Uzbekistan and reached a trilateral agreement with China and Russia. Additionally, work is underway to conclude three quarantine protocols with China.
According to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture, and Light Industry, during the recent visit of Deputy Minister Nyamjav Baasansuren to the Organization, a request was made for support in implementing the electronic certification system ePhyto, as well as in issuing re-export certificates and developing five regulatory acts related to the Law on Phytosanitary Control and the Law on Plant Protection.
Last year, the Plant Protection Organization of Mongolia was established, consisting of three divisions and 19 employees. This organization is engaged in surveying agricultural land in the central region for the presence of harmful organisms and damage, as well as monitoring the prevention and control of diseases and pests affecting fruit and berry crops. To date, 5,468 quarantine certificates and notifications for plants and plant raw materials have been issued, and 20 international standards have been adapted and approved for national use.
