Currently, labor migrants in the Samara region are prohibited from engaging in 117 types of activities. Previously, the restrictions applied to work in passenger taxis, educational institutions, pharmacies, and employment agencies. Now, this list has significantly expanded and includes various sectors:
- trade;
- transport;
- public catering;
- manufacturing sector;
- courier services;
- education;
- medical field;
- information technology and science.
In particular, migrants are prohibited from holding positions as teachers, coaches, nannies, as well as working in most retail outlets, in the field of programming, and at companies engaged in the assembly of unmanned aerial vehicles.
As stated in the governor's document, companies are given three months to adjust the "number of foreign workers" in accordance with the specified prohibitions on certain economic sectors.
Similar restrictions for migrants working under a patent have been introduced in many regions of Russia. It is expected that the vacancies that become available will be filled by citizens of Russia or countries that are part of the Eurasian Economic Union (Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia).
