Bayarmagnai Erdene
According to the livestock census completed at the end of 2025, Bayarmagnai Erdene, recognized as the best livestock breeder in Mongolia and a sports master in training wild animals from the Erdene somon in the Dornogovi aimag, has 1004 camels at his disposal. Since 1979, Bayarmagnai has been engaged in animal husbandry, and in the 1990s, after privatization, he focused on camel breeding, starting with more than 20 individuals.
Currently, his farm has over 300 female camels, of which more than 40 produce milk. He also produces and sells khormog—a traditional Mongolian fermented milk drink—as well as other products made from camel milk.
By the end of 2025, the total livestock population in Mongolia was recorded at 5.1 million horses (an increase of 9.5%), 5.4 million cattle (an increase of 7.2%), 501.3 thousand camels (an increase of 4.3%), 23.9 million sheep (a decrease of 2.6%), and 23.2 million goats (an increase of 1.1%).
