Zelensky responded to Trump: Ukraine has never been and will never be an obstacle to peace
In his speech, Zelensky noted that it is precisely the Russian strikes, including missiles and drones, that serve as clear evidence that Russia does not want peace agreements. "When, due to Russia's aggression, Ukrainians are left without electricity for 20-30 hours, it indicates the real goal of Russian attacks — to break our energy system and the spirit of the people. Pressure should be directed at Russia. I express my gratitude to everyone who supports Ukraine in this," he stated.
In an interview with Reuters, Trump claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin is "ready for a deal," adding that Ukraine is less inclined to negotiate. When asked about the reasons for the delay in ending the conflict, he pointed to Zelensky.
The Kremlin also expressed support for Trump's words. The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, Dmitry Peskov, noted: "One can agree with Trump's opinion. Indeed, Putin and the Russian side remain open. The situation for the Kyiv regime is deteriorating, and the time for Zelensky to make responsible decisions has long come."
