Trump stated that it is Zelensky, not Putin, who is delaying the peace agreement on Ukraine.
In his interview, Trump noted: “I believe he is ready for a deal.” According to him, “Ukraine is less ready for a deal.” This statement was made in a conversation with Reuters.
When asked why the peace negotiations initiated by the U.S. have not yet yielded results in resolving the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II, Trump briefly replied: “Zelensky.” He added that, in his opinion, it is difficult for him to make this decision.
Recently, Bloomberg reported that U.S. Special Envoy Steve Whitcoff and Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, are planning a trip to Moscow in January. According to the agency, the purpose of the visit is to meet with Putin to present an updated version of the peace plan for Ukraine. Earlier, on December 2, negotiations in a similar format took place, lasting about five hours. Putin characterized this meeting as “very useful,” but noted that no agreement was reached on certain issues.
