Local authorities are monitoring the situation and strongly recommend that both residents and tourists avoid closed areas due to the risk of lava and toxic gas emissions. Kilauea is considered one of the most active volcanoes in Hawaii, and since the beginning of 2024, it has erupted 39 times.
