Volcano in the Philippines Erupts with a Lava Fountain 100 Meters High

Today morning, an eruption occurred on Mayon Volcano, located on the island of Luzon, resulting in lava rising to a height of about 100 meters. This was reported by the Philippine News Agency, citing the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC).

According to NDRRMC data, the eruption lasted approximately 35 seconds and was recorded by surveillance cameras placed at the volcano observatory.

Mayon, with a crater height of 2462 meters, is an active volcano known for its frequent eruptions, which have occurred more than 50 times in the last 400 years. Despite its activity, the volcano attracts many tourists, especially during eruptions.

At the moment, authorities have not raised the volcano's alert level from three to four, which would necessitate the evacuation of residents within a radius of 7-8 kilometers. However, experts warn of the possibility of an explosive eruption in the coming days or weeks.

A video recording of the eruption was published on NDRRMC's social media.
