In the southern part of Argentina, in the Patagonia region, large forest fires have broken out, leading to the evacuation of thousands of tourists during the peak season. According to BILD, the provinces of Chubut, Río Negro, and Santa Cruz have been particularly affected, where over the past few days, the fire has destroyed more than 15,000 hectares of forest. Currently, about 3,000 tourists have already left the dangerous areas.

Chubut Governor Ignacio Torres, in an interview with Radio Mitre, described the current situation as one of the most serious ecological disasters in the region's history. He noted that while fires occur here every year, this year they are spreading at an unprecedented rate, making them difficult to control. According to him, Patagonia is experiencing the most severe drought since 1965.

More than 500 firefighters and police, as well as aviation, are involved in combating the fire. Unfortunately, one firefighter has been hospitalized with severe burns. The causes of the fires, which have been raging in the region for over a week, remain unclear at this time.
