A fire in Australia has destroyed over 300,000 hectares of forest

As a result of the abnormal heat in the Australian state of Victoria, more than 300,000 hectares of forests have been destroyed by fire. According to the Guardian, the situation may continue to worsen over the next few weeks.

According to earlier reports from the region, one person has already died, and hundreds of residents have lost their homes due to the wildfires. In response to this disaster, the federal government of Australia and the government of Victoria have allocated 19.5 million Australian dollars (approximately 13 million US dollars) to assist those affected.

According to data published by the Guardian, at least 119 buildings have been burned in the fires in Victoria, and the area of forested land affected by the fire has exceeded 300,000 hectares. The state is currently continuing its battle against the fire, which may last for several more weeks.

As reported by the Victoria State Control Center, as of Saturday, there were 67 active fires in the region, of which 10 are continuing to spread uncontrollably.
