In Poland, a child was born drunk

In Poland, a woman in a state of alcohol intoxication was admitted to the hospital at 38 weeks of pregnancy. Tests showed that her blood contained almost three promille of alcohol, which resulted in her newborn child also being born "drunk," as reported by the Polish newspaper Fakt.
The dangerous level of alcohol in her blood prompted doctors to perform an emergency cesarean section, as it posed a threat to both the mother and the child. After birth, medical staff found that the infant had over 1.5 promille of alcohol in their blood, which poses a fatal threat to newborns.
As of now, the child's condition has stabilized. At the same time, a criminal case has been initiated against the mother, and she faces up to five years in prison.
