Media: The USA has begun to seize another oil tanker

In the Caribbean Sea, near Trinidad, U.S. authorities seized the tanker Olina. This is already the fifth operation to intercept vessels in recent weeks, indicating increasing efforts by Washington to control Venezuelan oil exports, Reuters reports, citing information from two American officials.

According to a source in the oil industry, the tanker Olina, which allegedly flew the flag of East Timor, left Venezuela and returned to the region. Data provided by the British company Vanguard, which specializes in marine risks, shows that the vessel's tracking system was last active 52 days ago in Venezuela's exclusive economic zone, northeast of Curacao.

According to industry information, the tanker Olina left Venezuela last week fully loaded with oil, as part of a fleet. This occurred shortly after the U.S. seized Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on January 3, and the tanker was returning fully loaded after a blockade was imposed on Venezuelan oil exports.
