American military captures Russian tanker "Marinera"
The operation was carried out by the U.S. Coast Guard. Meanwhile, Russian military ships and a submarine were nearby, observing the actions of the Americans without intervening.
According to media reports, the United States attempted to intercept the tanker, which had departed from Venezuela, for more than 17 days. In response, Russia dispatched its naval forces to escort the vessel.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that it is monitoring the situation's developments. However, there are currently no official comments from the Russian side regarding the legal grounds for the seizure and the fate of the tanker.
