""Tied to the saddle and dragged through the steppe". The husband of the brutally murdered Kazakh woman was sentenced."

The court proceedings in the case of the murder of Aizat Jumanova in Kazakhstan have concluded with a verdict. As reported by a Tengrinews.kz correspondent, the court found her husband, Aibar Zhanbolat, guilty of this crime.

The judge sentenced Zhanbolat to 14 years of imprisonment in a medium-security facility.

According to the court's decision, "to find Aibar Zhanbolat guilty of the crime provided for by part 1 of article 99 of the Criminal Code, and to impose a sentence of 14 years of imprisonment to be served in a medium-security institution. To partially satisfy the civil claim of the victim Jumanova: to recover 20 million tenge as compensation for moral damage and 1 million 700 thousand tenge for legal expenses," the ruling states.

We remind you that the investigation into the death of 32-year-old Aizat Jumanova took place in the village of Balasaz in the Aksu district of Zhetysu (Kazakhstan). The accusation of her death was brought against her husband - Aibar Zhanbolat.

According to relatives' testimonies, a quarrel occurred between the spouses during which the man began to beat Jumanova in front of their two-year-old daughter. A medical examination revealed a closed traumatic brain injury, contusions and brain swelling, a fracture of the base of the skull, as well as multiple fractures of the limbs and pelvis, and traces of dragging on a rough surface. Relatives believe that the woman was tied by her hands to a horse saddle and dragged across the steppe.

Aizat was taken to the hospital in Taldykorgan on the night of June 22, 2025, but doctors pronounced her dead 30 minutes later. Relatives are convinced that she was dead before arrival and that the signs of violence were attempts to cover up: the body was washed and dressed.

Aibar Zhanbolat claimed that Aizat fell out of the window while trying to take a selfie; however, relatives deny this version.

Initially, the investigation was conducted under article 106, part 3 of the Criminal Code "Intentional infliction of serious harm to health resulting in death by negligence," but later the charges were reclassified to part 1 of article 99 "Murder."
