Kydyraliev took this position in December 2024, succeeding Sadyr Mamytov after the Olympic Games in Paris.
It is reported that on March 27, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the NOC took place, during which it was decided to hold an extraordinary General Assembly of the NOC on April 29.
The list of candidates for the position of the new president will be announced on April 11.
In addition to his work in the NOC, Umbetaly Kydyraliev is a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh and the president of the Boxing Federation of Kyrgyzstan. He also previously served as a deputy of the sixth convocation of the Jogorku Kenesh, participated in the Constitutional Assembly of 2021, headed the board of OJSC "Kyrgyzaltyn," and was a member of the Board of Directors of CJSC "Kumtor Gold Company."
