Akzhol Makhmudov to compete at the Asian Championship in Bishkek

Akjol Makhmudov will represent Kyrgyzstan at the Asian Wrestling Championship, scheduled for April 6-12, 2026, in Bishkek.

According to the information from the Wrestling Federation of Kyrgyzstan, the athlete has been included in the national team and will compete in the 77 kg category.

Recently, at the end of February, Makhmudov participated in a ranking tournament in Albania, where he competed in the 82 kg weight category.

Before the Asian Championship, he is set to compete in a match at the PWL 11 tournament, which will take place on March 27 in Tashkent (Uzbekistan). In this bout, his opponent will be Olympic champion Nao Kusaka from Japan.

It is worth noting that Makhmudov already has extensive experience participating in adult Asian Championships, where he has won three gold medals and one silver. In the final match of the 2024 tournament, also held in Bishkek, he lost to Kusaka.
