The grand opening of the "Nowruz–2026" games took place with the participation of Talant Arstankulov, the deputy plenipotentiary representative of the president in the region, and representatives of the Kökbörü Federation, as well as heads of relevant departments, as reported by the plenipotentiary representation of the president in the Osh region.
As part of the festive events, republican championships are being held in key types of national sports:
- Kökbörü (goat dragging);
- At chabysh (horse racing);
- Er enish (horse wrestling);
- Salbuurun (comprehensive hunting games).
The competition program began with a Kökbörü tournament, featuring more than 10 teams from across the country competing for the title of the best.
The final games and the culmination of the sports festival will take place on March 21, when the winners of all disciplines will be announced and awards will be presented.
