Kyrgyz boxer Arvaz Akhmadi reached the quarterfinals at the international tournament taking place in Bangkok, Thailand.

The competition, called the World Boxing Futures Cup, is for young athletes under 19 years old and is currently being held in the capital.

Akhmadi represents the country in the 70 kg category, where 40 boxers are competing.

He began his path to success in the 1/16 finals, winning against a Czech boxer, and then faced a Hungarian on March 12.

During the match, the Kyrgyz athlete managed to knock his opponent down several times in the first round, and the referee decided to continue the fight.

This victory allowed Akhmadi to advance to the quarterfinals.
