Luke Littler has made history in world darts

Luke Littler, a young talent from Great Britain, has once again demonstrated his skill by winning the prestigious UK Open for the second consecutive time. In the final match held at the Butlin's Minehead resort, he triumphed over the experienced James Wade with a score of 11:7. This victory earned him a substantial prize of £120,000.

With this success, Littler became only the fourth player in history to defend the title at the UK Open. The last time this achievement was recorded was by Michael van Gerwen in 2015-2016.

The final was tense and dramatic. Wade managed to equalize the score at 7:7 after coming back from an initial deficit. However, the decisive moment came in the 15th round: Wade made a mistake on the bullseye, giving Littler the opportunity to close the game with 116 points. Seizing this chance, he finished the match with a precise throw into the double 12 segment.

The road to the final was equally challenging for both players. Luke Littler showcased an incredible comeback in the semifinals against Josh Rock, coming back from 1:5 to win 11:9. James Wade, on the other hand, defeated Gerwyn Price with a score of 11:8, showing outstanding performance with 11 maximums of 180 points and an average of 105.53.

The UK Open tournament, known for its unpredictability and scale, often referred to as the "FA Cup of Darts," gathered 160 participants this year. Despite the high competition, Littler once again lifted the trophy, confirming his dominance on the professional stage.
