From February 11 to 13, the republican winter sports games "I am a Champion" took place in Karakol at the ski base for athletes in the age category of 2008–2015. According to the State Agency for Physical Culture and Sports of the Kyrgyz Republic, 110 young skiers participated in the competitions, representing six teams from Naryn, Chui, and Issyk-Kul regions, as well as from the Toguz-Toros and Chatkal districts of the Jalal-Abad region.
As a result of three days of competition, the leader of the team standings was the "Karakol No. 1" team (Karakol Sports School), which scored the highest number of points and won the grand prize of 220,000 soms.
The second place went to the team from Naryn (Ala-Too Sports School), which received a reward of 170,000 soms.
The bronze medal was won by the Issyk-Ata Sports School for team and winter sports, which received 110,000 soms.
The fourth place was taken by the Karakol Sports School, which earned 50,000 soms.
The fifth place was occupied by the Toguz-Toro team, also with a prize of 50,000 soms.
The total prize fund of the competition amounted to 600,000 soms.
The goal of the "I am a Champion" games is to develop youth sports, promote winter sports, and create a competitive sports atmosphere in the regions of the country.
